On the Outside, Looking In by Maggock

Trying several different things in this picture. I just want to say, though it may not show, Socar Myles' art is definitely an inspiration in this particular piece. Tried to make the gryphon a little ratlike. *g*

Medium: Painter Classic
Tags: gryphon griffin
Creepy Cat by chlorophyta

For one of my classes. We were asked to do a halloween image with the theme, "creepy." Awesome assignment, right? The catch? We had a week to do it. I had to abandon my initial idea as 'way too complicated to do in such a short time,' but luckily, he did end up giving us a slight extension to finish up. This is marker, colored pencil, and a lot of digital tweaking, including adding an earlier scan of the piece at about 40% opacity to fix some issues that had cropped up when I went a little overboard with the marker and colored pencil. The result is that this finished version actually looks very different from its real-media counterpart. 0_o

Medium: marker, colored pencil, digital
Tags: night cat trees creepy
Kudu and Tiger by EbonyTigress

I used acrylic for my next to final project in my first painting class, I didn't have the money for the required oil paints so I did my best with some old Acrylics I've had for a few years.

We could do whatever we wanted, so I chose to draw a Greater Kudu (because they're just so beautiful), and a tiger of some indescriminate species. I think originaly I wanted to make my tiger a sumatran but that just wasn't working out :P so he got to be a generic tiger instead.

I'm not sure what I did to do so decently for this particular painting, but I haven't been able to do it again. I really wish I could revisit the method I'd used to make the paints come out so smooth.

Now this painting resides in the house of two of my friends who bought it at the Oklacon auction last year.

Medium: Acrylic Paint
Tags: Tiger Greater Kudu
